The “Rewind Page” in the MyVTech Baby Plus App aims to record 18 hours of continuous full-HD video, allowing users to check back and see their little ones. This video will display the actual view that the user set at a specific time, including the options for “Floor Stand View” and “Table Stand View.” Additionally, users can access different data such as the time, type of detection status, and type of tracker status that were detected. Moreover, users have the ability to capture and record special moments, which they can later revisit in the albums. Furthermore, they can enjoy the AI-Auto-Capture function, which displays five photos every day. The most challenging part is how to show so much information in one timeline and what friendly gestures and controls can be used for users to navigate the timeline.

ROLE: Define and design the entire UI/UX of the Rewind page, including user research, concept sketches, wireframes, and user flows.

01 Empathize
Most baby monitoring apps lack the video playback function. Therefore, our product is specifically designed to enable users to scroll back through the past 18 hours of their baby’s activity, allowing them to observe moments such as when the baby cried or woke up.

02 Define
Join the meeting with the design team and product managers to understand the product requirements and analyze various monitoring apps.

03 Ideate
Design the scrollable timeline, previous and next event buttons, and zoom in/out function to control the video.

04 Wireframe
Use Figma to create rough ideas for the video timeline control and user flow for all three features: 18-hour video playback, photo of the day, and albums.

05 Test & Adjust
Adjust the user flow based on the feedback received from the design team and product team after the meeting.

06 Launch
Communicate with the app team to collaborate on building the app, explaining all the flow details and key points to ensure a clear understanding.
