Henderson Land has a new commercial property calls “Two Artlane”. It is the first to introduce Smart Home products with “Smart Magic Mirror” to create a more effective home life. This project is a WebView design in an Android app. Its purpose lets residents get the Property Information, Traffic Tunnel Status, and Weather Information closer. Also creating the data visualization interface for the Smart Magic Mirror which can let the clear information to remind residents to avoid the trouble things. In addition to the relevant information on the right, the residents also can control the smart home device on the left. So the interface is divided into left and right sides.

01 Empathize
It is first to introduce Smart Home products with “Smart Magic Mirror” interface. Users are relatively new to this product.

02 Define
Analysis of different property management app to understand which the most important information to the residents.

03 Ideate
Design the interface to show Property Information, Traffic Tunnel Status, Weather Information, Nearby information.

04 Prototype
This is my first time using the “Speed Map Panels” API, “Weather Warning Summary” API, “Current Weather Report” API, and “9-day Weather Forecast” API to collect the data in the Webview development. I tried to get the data and adjust the design. All the coding was done by me.

05 Test & Adjust
Check the traffic and weather data hourly to see if there is any change. Also, check the Smart Magic Mirror in the show unit of Two Artlane to see the content is display normal or not.

06 Launch
Install APK on Two Artlane’s Smart Magic Mirror to let residents use the interface.

Using the XMLHttpRequest object to request JSON format data from data.gov.hk that using the“Speed Map Panels” API, “Weather Warning Summary” API, “Current Weather Report” API, and “9-day Weather Forecast” API to collect the data.
