Project Overview

YosLock is a leading company in developing smart entrance accessing solutions that develop next-generation touch-less access control solutions for commercial, residential, and industrial sectors. The brand wants people to open every door most simply. The product’s core technology is “Facial Recognition”, which supports remote controlling, auto-locking, and monitoring solutions. Create a better and smarter way for people to control access. This project mainly focuses on brand logo design. Since it is a start-up company, how the logo can express a professional and reliable image without losing its vigor and vitality?

01 Discover
Understand the “Yoslock” branding history, industry, competitors, and audience.

02 Research
Research all about the smart product companies visual research and concluding.

03 Brainstorm
Try to brainstorm ideas base on the “Facial Recognition”, “Door Lock” and “Camera”.

04 Sketch
Sketch some ideas base on the shape of the door lock, camera, wireless signal, and brand name.

05 Design
Select the most promising sketches into digital form and testing the viability of sketches.

06 Present
Show the strongest brand identity design solution to the client.

07 Adjust
Base on the client’s comment that change a little bit of font shape.

08 Deliver
Deliver the brand identity package to the client.

Selected Logo

The main purpose of Yoslock logo design focuses on variety, identification, and communication. The logo of smart products needs to convey high-tech access control products and their core technologies at the same time. The logo concept uses the facial recognition camera to be the main visual, also adding the smart lock, focus frame, and wireless signal to be the auxiliary elements. It conveys that developing a better keyless experience for the access control products.

There has a special motion layering design for the status of the smart lock. It is 180° horizontally for close status and 45° for open status. Also using the vibrant yellow and the authoritative black to distinguish the open and close status, it looks interesting and technological.
