The Purpose of the product display model is to show the product’s features more quickly and effectively. It can let customers easily experience the actual scenarios with products. Therefore, “Mobility”, “Portability” and “Simple Installation” are the design focus points in this project. This model design is quite complicated, making the paper model can see this face is suitable for that part or not. It is easy to imagine that components are in front of or behind that part. In the future, reduce errors when drawing out.

Design Process
01 Understand
Understand the requiements and purpose from marketing team. Then learn different function of different hardware and it’s size.
02 Ideate
Think the ideas that meet the “Mobility”, “Portability” and “Simple Installation” purpose.
03 Decide
Decided to use the door hinges to make the demo board can open at 90 and 180 angles. Then, find the laser cutting supplier and design the laser cut drawing to them. Also, find the suitable components.
04 Prototype
Build and stick the acrylic parts. Design the PP sticker for the demo board and install the hardware and connect the wires.
05 Test & Adjust
Test whether each acrylic board and the components are operating normally, whether the size and color of the PP Sticker are appropriate, and whether the hardware wiring works normally.
06 Deliver
Colleagues from the marketing department will show the demo board to customers when they go out to participate in the meeting.
Concept
Yoswit Smart Home Automation Solution Demo Board – The design is to simulate an actual home unit in the house, there are installed light switches in indoor and access control systems outdoor. Create a real feeling of being in a home unit to customers. Besides, using the door hinges to make the demo board can open at 90 and 180 angles. It can adjust angles base on different sizes of meeting, this folding design is more convenient to open and close the model. In addition, all the line’s wiring has been connected already in the model. The marketing colleagues just need to plug in the power cord in this integrated design. Last but not least, there is a 90 angle folding design for the curtain track to improve portability.

Visual Design
The PP stickers are divided into exterior and interior designs. The fresh wood grain is used as the background, and a black door is added to match the high-tech doorbell and card reader from outside. The interior design style is simply that using the white wall, wooden furniture, and floors to set off the smart products.
Production
Classify the acrylic components and mark the relevant category numbers. This makes the production more organized and saves time in finding components.
When bonding rail acrylic parts, due to the long length, the acrylic plate is bent during laser cut, and it will rebound continuously during bonding. In addition, it is more difficult to make by myself. Finally, use a heavier object such as a tape base against the acrylic board.
I tried to draw the wiring between different hardware. It is quite complex. Because I need to wire some light switch and test work or not.
